Set in the heart of a quiet village in the black mountains of Aude the house is built of stone on the foundations of a 15th century chateaux and retains many original features; stone walls, huge chestnut beams, a granite sink and walls over ½ a metre thick. Nico & Christina offer you a warm welcome and a quiet haven in which to relax and unwind. Renovated with care we have 4, spacious well appointed bedrooms each with a seating area and tea and coffee facilities, all our rooms have, hairdryers air-conditioning units, and central heating, we have a library and games and regional maps. Enjoy a culinary experience with evening meals which are available by reservation. You can relax in our sunny garden or on the balcony over looking the village valley with its river. We are ideally placed for touring the historic Cather castles, 'La Cite' (Medieval cite) at Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, ancient churches, medieval villages, caves and museums. Activities near by include, golf, wine tasting, sunbathing and swimming in mountain lakes, horse riding, walking though the many forests, and sight seeing (nature at its best stunning scenery) wonder through markets and car boot sales, wine and dine and dance the night away a local fetes! Or just unwind and relax! |
Four rooms = (1) La Chambre de Rose with a double bed (sleeps 1/3) with an en-suite shower room with luxury Hydro-shower. (2) La Chambre Chinoise with twin or double bed (the choice is yours) (sleeps 1/4) with en-suite shower room. (3) La Chambre Orchidée with double bed (sleeps 1/2) with a shared luxury bath/shower room. (4)La Suite Fleur-de-Lys has a family room with twin beds + a 2nd bed room with twin beds (sleeps 4/5) with en-suite bathroom. All are tastefully decorated. Cots and high chairs, potty and baby bath are available. |

Evening meals are available by reservation our cuisine is traditional and regional and uses local produce and can be served on the balcony or dining room or we can serve you BBQ,s or Paellas in the large sunny garden. |

Attractions We are in the Black Mountains with stunning scenery (nature at its best), near a national park and surrounded by the largest forest in Europe and just above the vineyards where you can taste and purchase good wines. Near 'La Cite' at Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi and historic Cather castles, ancient churches, picturesque villages, there many local market and car boots sales and fetes are held all summer long. You can walk, golf, cycle, horse ride or swim in lakes, visit caves and waterfalls, there animal parks and many kids attractions. |

*Air links direct to CARCASSONNE or TOULOUSE. From CARCASSONNE take the ring-road and keep following the signs to MAZAMET – to the D118 pass through the villages of VILLEMOUSTAUSSOU and VILLEGAILHENC, then through the wine fields and up into the forest, where you will see CUXAC-CABARDÈS clearly signed. After the sign and before the estate agent, turn left into the village. Take rue de la poste and pass the post office and the bakers turn left and immediately right into rue de la Piala we are No. 9. |
