La Hantraye, described by our guests as 'a wonderful, secluded hamlet', and 'quite the most relaxing place I have stayed' offers peace and tranquillity to all who visit. Our beautiful (Trois Epis)Chambre d'Hote in our splendidly renovated barn, and 2 lovely Gites surround a large courtyard and are set in 5 acres of orchards full of apple, plum and cherry trees. This romantic setting, together with our lovely covered, solar heated swimming pool with terrace (for use by guests in the houses and Chambre d'hote)and croquet on the lawn, makes many guests find it hard to leave the site and visit the rest of Normandy!

Formally a large Barn, we planned our Chambre d'hote to meet the demands of our guests and to provide them with home comforts. We have 3 bedrooms, 1 large double room with a large shower, a second double and a twin/triple room with en-suite shower rooms and tea and coffee making facilities.

There is a large sitting/dining room with English television and a patio area for outside dining. We make our own bread and cakes and have chickens for breakfast eggs.

For winter guests there is a lovely woodburning fire in the sitting room and central heating to keep everyone nice and cosy and for extra chilly guests we even have hot water bottles!

We have a covered swimming pool for guest use (towels not provided) which is open as soon as the weather is warm until it goes cold!

Wifi interent connection is available for guest use.

Dinner is served 2 or 3 times a week depending on demand. This is a fixed menu of 4 courses and includes some wine and we cater for special diets, vegetarian, gluten, dairy, egg free etc but do ask for advance warning of allergies!

We also have self catering cottages available for hire.

Attractions

Normandy is a wonderful place to visit for a short stay or holiday and there are lots of lovely places to explore, foods to taste and drinks to sample! We are within 35 minutes of Mont St Michel and it's fascinating history and 20 minutes from the fairy tale Castle of Fougere. The beautiful market town of St Hilaire du Harcouet is 3km away and a Wednesday morning must is to visit the market and sample all sorts of interesting cheeses and saucisse for breakfast.

In the nearby village of Milly there is a Calvados distillery and the beaches of the Bay of Mont St Michel offer lots of walking and places to sit and watch the world go by.

We are open most of the year. Please e-mail or telephone to confirm availability. The large double is 53 euros per night for 2 people. The smaller double is 47 euros per night for 2 people and the twin room is 47 euros for 2 people. An additional bed in any room is an extra 10 euros per night. For single occupancy we deduct 5 euros from the price. Breakfast is included in the price.

Dinner is 25 euros per person - price adjusted for children.
