A lovely French house, sleeps six people, in the Charente Maritime region of France.
In this idyllic location you can be assured of a most memorable holiday! Whether you want to laze in the garden by the pool with a book and a glass of chilled wine or want to explore the region, there is something for everyone.
This private house is situated on the edge of the village which has approximately 250 dwellings, it has a large paved garden with an above surface pool.
The house has recently been restored to a high standard after being totally neglected for several years.
The accommodation comprises of 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin. The master bedroom is on the 2nd floor and has a beautiful beamed ceiling. The other 2 bedrooms are on the 1st floor.
There is a large living room with a wood burning stove in a stone fireplace, 2 settees an armchair and a table and chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher.
The shower room/toilet is on the ground floor and there is also another separate toilet. There is a separate dining room which is very large and used to be a mill room.
There is a stream in the garden which runs under the house, but is generally dry in the Summer, and as there is a wall of approximately 1 metre down into the stream, it is therefore only suitable for young children if supervised. Opposite the house is a 2nd garden with a shed and parking for 2/3 cars. There are 2 bicycles and a bar-b-q in the shed.
The village of Loire sur Nie is approximately 1 hour from the airports of La Rochelle and Poitiers, and one and half hours from Bordeaux. It is within 4/5 hours from St Malo and Caen and 6/7 hours from Calais/Dieppe.
Loire is a pretty rural village with a local shop, small lake, church and lovely walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside, which in the Summer months are full of sunflowers and vines.
It is very close to the towns of St Jean d’Angely and Matha, both of which have weekly markets and supermarkets.
