Nearest town: Carmaux

La Bastidette is just outside the village of Monesties one of the 'beau villages of France'.It offers a wild life haven and natures own garden.You can see deer,pine martins; red squirrels,a multitude of birds from the hoopoe to the golden eagle, the sparrow to the golden oriele. There's woodpeckers; kingfishers; redstart just to mention a few: you would need your binoculars for some.

You are just a drive away from the medieval town of Cordes, with its winding cobblestone lanes that lead to the top of the town.Not far away is Albi, with the Toulouse Lautrec Museum, the magnificent Cathedral and many fashionable shops:The town of Toulouse is about 1hours drive away and has plenty of places to visit, including the cité d'espace.

You can visit the vineyards in and around Gaillac, where you can sample the different wines to see which you prefer.You can visit the famous Aveyron gorges and take in the magnificent countryside.

There are miles of tracks for cycling, walking, or if you'd like horse riding. The local centre equest can provide a horse for you to ride.

If water sports is your preference, try La Roucerie, just 5km away.You can swim there in the summer months under supervision.

La Bastidette gite is fully furnished and sleeps 4 people. everything is there you may need for your stay including English Television.

We have two bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other,two singles, both bedrooms have a wash-hand basin. There is a fitted kitchen with a cooker; fridge,microwave,kettle,toaster,and coffee-maker. There is a table and six chairs. The lounge has two bed-settees, an armchair; TV, video player, and a DVD player is available if required. There's also a few videos and dvds for your entertainment The Television receives English programmes
The shower room and toilet are in separate rooms.

The village of Monesties is within walking distance and you'll find a bakery,pharmacy,small grocery shop, tourist information office, two-restaurants and a small coffee/snack shop.There is also a doctor's surgery and a hairdressers.
The nearest small town is Carmaux, which only a few minutes drive away and there you'll find a selection of shops and a couple of supermarkets.There's a market in Carmaux every Friday morning.

Attractions

There are plenty of places to visit apart from the towns.If its an active holiday you like take a trip to Cap d'Couverte.You'll find plenty of things there to keep you busy; or perhaps you like water based activities, then its La Roucerie, where theres a multitude of choices for you.

If you have children they may like a trip to Cite E'space, where you can adventure through space; or visit the land of Insects.

Take a trip to Millau and see the splendid Bridge;a magnificent piece of architecture.
